Starfall.com This site is an excellent resource for Kindergarten through Second Grade to help kids learn to read in a fun way. There are also writing journals and books available for a very low cost. The National Parenting Center This site includes a parenting corner and numerous informative articles about parenting at all developmental stages. Articles are divided into categories of learning, physical development, behavior and emotional issues, sex, drugs and tough issues. PBS- It's My Life A great site for the upper elementary grade students and parents on topics like Friends, Bullies, Body Changes, Family Relationships, and Money Management. FableVision Place FableVision Place is a town for kids and grown-ups of all ages, filled with stories, games and fun places to visit. Wander around, stop by the café and have fun! SuperThinkers Games SuperThinkers is a fun and challenging site targeted for learners in grades 5 through 8, but also fun for learners of all levels. PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. At Meadow Hall, we have a list of High Five Behaviors and a Hierarchy of Consequences that are designed to create a safe and secure learning environment to ensure all students learn at their highest potential. What is a FBA/BIP?A functional behavior assessment involves gathering information in order to determine the cause or function of a behavior.
A behavior intervention plan includes positive interventions, strategies and supports to address the target behavior. If you have further questions about FBA & BIP's please contact me via email. On Wednesday, February 8, 2017, the Office of Student and Family Support and Engagement, released a statement around the ongoing efforts of Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) to provide all parents and guardians with resources that help prevent bullying and harassment in schools. The message also provided context around the inclusion of the Bullying, Harassment, or Intimidation Reporting Form with student report cards that went home earlier this week. Children's literature has some AWESOME resources for you to talk with your child about a variety of topics. Some of these titles you will see I have in my classroom guidance lessons - some I have in my office because I use all the time - and some I enjoy, but just have not bought yet!
